About

Jonathan Phillips graduated college in 1985 with a degree in Computer Programming & Data Processing.  His Internet marketing career began in 1998 when he began selling on eBay while still running a full time real estate business.  Beginning in 2002, he saw the shift from offline methods to online techniques accelerate and became interested in Internet marketing.  He built his first business website in 2003 and opened a Google Adwords account that year, becoming one of the first real estate brokers to actively advertise on the Internet.

He has had parallel careers in traditional (“Offline”) and Internet (“Online”) business for the past 8 years.

Jonathan sees the separation between Online and Offline businesses getting narrower and narrower by the hour.  The goal is to not get caught in the space between the two.

Traditional ‘dead tree’ marketing (print ads) have almost completely lost effectiveness in most markets.  The good news is that with the right information and guidance, business marketing can be more effective, more comprehensive, more useful, and cheaper than print ads ever were.

Jonathan's studies since graduating with his programming degree have concentrated on independent research on the predominant search engines - Google, MSN/Bing, and Yahoo. In addition, Youtube and Facebook all have their own search algorithyms and processes.  Each of these entities have generated terrabytes of fascinating research data.

Jonathan opened Main Street Marketing LLC in 2007 to help guide traditional retail merchants and service providers understand and use emerging Internet and Social Network technologies by following proven, sometimes little-known, business models to receive amazing results.

His clients have followed his successful path.
